Educating the Next Generation for Life

BR Midwest visits several large universities every semester with the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP). This spring alone CBR Midwest challenged over 100,000 students and faculty to consider who the pre-born child is and what abortion does to him. But what is often not shared in our monthly reports is the vast amount of classroom style teaching opportunities we have. Just in the last few weeks CBR Midwest has presented Pro Life Worldview Training for several large groups of young people. These training sessions help to train our youth in pro-life apologetics and prepare them to defend a biblical worldview with their friends and classmates. Here is the list of groups CBR Midwest has been privileged to teach recently.

High School Age Groups

  • Worthington Kilbourne High School
  • Thomas Worthington High School
  • TeenPact
  • New Wine Covenant Community

College Age Groups

  • University of Toledo College Republicans
  • BGSU Students for Life
  • UNH Students for Life
  • Capital University Pro Life Crusaders
  • Columbus State Community College
Here are some comments from those presentations:

“I used to be on the fence with this issue. I can say that Mr. Harrington convinced me that abortion is wrong and murder.”— Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“I am very appreciative of the clarity you brought with respect to the complications of the First Amendment.” — David, Ohio TeenPact Leader

“Even though a week ago I was uncertain of my views regarding abortion, I now feel compelled to be pro-life.”— Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“Mark Harrington was by far the most effective speaker I have heard thus far. Not just because he completely silenced our very opinioned and controversial class, but most important he provided an excellent argument on a scientific, religious, and legal level.”— Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

More Comments Taken From Youth Surveys

“I do not believe that putting the morbid pictures of dead children and bloody baby tissue is the right way to go about promoting life.” — Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“Seeing those pictures of aborted fetus really ripped my heart out.” — 18 yr. old Female Reno, NV.

“I thought he [Mark] presented his case well. He was also respectful of the students when he answered their questions, and he also answered them directly. He did not dance around the questions like some of our previous speakers.” — Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“I was completely offended by the scare tactics. The comparing of the children from the holocaust to fetuses made me sick. And the pictures you brought in (with photographs that had actually been taken in Poland about 30 years ago of mid 2nd trimester abortions…I know…I called and researched it) were to put it lightly SILLY.” — Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“Watching the actual abortion taking place in the video has made my beliefs more solid in that I saw that it's actually real.. these aren't just lumps of tissue, they're babies being slaughtered.” — 19 yr. old Female Milwaukie, OR

“Some people think that the use of graphic pictures is a sign of weakness, but I think it really strengthened the presentation. After seeing those pictures, I absolutely want abortion to be illegal.” — Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“I think that Harrington was, without a doubt, the most sympathetic pro-life activist I have ever seen.” --Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“Mark Harrington seemed to have a dominant domain about him that seemed to permeate across the room. The class seemed much calmer and subdued while, and after, he spoke. He used a great variety of materials and seemed well read. [. . .] Of all the speakers, he seemed the most sure of his information.” — Worthington Kilbourne High School Student

“Choice” Truck Saves Lives Again

Council Bluffs, IA — On loan to Rescue The Heartland, CBR’s “Choice” Truck visited the Planned Parenthood abortion chamber in Council Bluffs, IA. on Saturday morning, April 21st. Parked for hours in a private lot directly across from the killing center, it provided an excellent view of the grim reality of abortion to all those entering the facility as well as those driving or walking by.

At this particular death camp, access is difficult and saves are rare. But on this morning two babies lives were confirmed saved! According to a local sidewalk counselor, there has never been 2 saves in one day at this location before. Pro-lifers present were convinced that the “Choice” Truck played a significant role in these miracles.

CBR Midwest is helping to re-invent the pro-life movement with use of our effective projects and resources. We would like to equip other organizations and individuals like Operation Rescue with the tools necessary to stop the killing of the pre-born.

Pastor Says “We Love What You Are Doing But”

As good stewards, CBR Midwest gets the most of your pro-life dollar. We will continue; however, to struggle until Pastors and many others understand that the front lines of the abortion war need support, too. Recently, I had this email sent to me from a Pastor regarding a request from us for help:

“Right now, Mark, we are working with the local pregnancy help center. I love what you guys are doing, but we are trying not to get too spread out ... Sorry.”

CBR agrees that support of Crisis Pregnancy Center’s (CPC) is vitally important to our success. But support of CPC’s is not sufficient to win the battle over abortion. Pro-life Americans who “love what we do” should "spread out" their financial support to help the frontlines, too - not only the triage units taking care of the wounded (as important as that is) . MASH units can’t win a war. The troops on the frontlines need ammunition. Please consider the soldiers at CBR Midwest worthy of your support.

Important: Remember to write “GMO” (stands for Gift Midwest Office) in the memo portion of your check in order for the funds to be deposited in the CBR Midwest fund. All your gifts will go to the Spring GAP campaign
