You missed your calling as the Roger Ebert of pro-life film reviewers Jim. And your report is just as I suspected. Ms. Taylor interviews post-abortive women who say abortion ruined their lives. The pro-aborts interview post-abortive women who say abortion saved their lives. Because pro-lifers want to be liked and pro-aborts want to win, both sides are desperate to hide the procedure no one wants to see anyway.
So viewers know no more about abortion itself after seeing these videos than they knew before. As a consequence, the public merely shrugs and decides that abortion is bad for some women but good for others. So let’s just leave it to personal choice. Poor Ms. Taylor was raised in churches whose pastors taught her to cover-up the horror of abortion. So she makes videos which cover up the horror of abortion.
But since half of all abortions are performed on women who have already had one or more previous abortion, telling post abortive women that a future abortion will ruin their lives is futile if huge numbers don’t believe a past abortion ruined their lives. It is fine to show people how bad abortion can be for some women. But we must also show them how bad abortion always is for all children. The pro-aborts can’t believe how lucky they are to have such clueless adversaries.

Gregg:
I attended the DVD showing to the staff at Ev Free Fullerton. Well made DVD over one hour long – they elected to show the shorter version! Basically a film to reach post abortive women with the hopes that they would reach younger women and counsel them to not have abortions. BUT, presented as a film to stop abortion. It won Best Documentary at this years Christian Film Festival.
Afterwards, I asked why they didn’t show an actual abortion instead of interviewing women who had had abortions and letting them tell their stories of incredible pain and agony. Carri Taylor said, “we didn’t want this to be one of those blood and guts pro-life movies.” When I frowned, she asked me, “did I answer your question?” I said, “yes, you answered my questions.” I then got up and left.
I could provide more details, but basically I would say it is a very effective tool to reach post abortive women, but not effective for stopping abortion. But, what do I know? At the end of the DVD, there are several interviews with pastors and doctors ADMONISHING pastors for being afraid to preach against abortion in the church. Some excellent quotes and because some of the speakers were African American, I thought they’d sure be good names for us to have for CBR work.

p.s. I showed our new video to our disabilities pastor and she loved it and said it is what we need to show. SO, one of these days, I will get to do so.

I haven’t heard of her either. The link below her name at the bottom
of the string of e-mails below takes you to her website, but the DVD can not
be seen. There is a page describing the video but not too detailed. I
am guessing it is about the victimization of the mothers who abort their
children. It is 1 hour and 46 minutes long!!! I will let you know how
it goes. I am also going to take the link to our new video and ask about
showing that.

Never heard of Carri Taylor. Where can the video be found online? It
probably qualifies for YouTube because it contains nothing disgusting.
He problem is that abortion is far more disgusting than church staffs
understand or want to understand I have seen literally scores of
“chick-flick” pro-life videos which interview people who subjectively
regret having aborted but never honestly show viewers why abortion is
objectively regrettable. The othe side makes pro-choice videos which
interview people who subjectively glorify here abortions but never
honestly show viewers why abortion itself is glorious. This leaves the
public convinced that abortion is bad for some but good for others
so it should remain a matter of personal choice. But showing these
kinds of videos give cover to pastors who want to say they are doing
something — as long as that “something” doesn’t offend many viewers.
I hope I am wrong Bout this particular video. If so we will promote it.
If not, we will toss it on the big pile of similar productions.

The staff at my church is watching the above referenced pro-life video.
I was invited to take time off work tomorrow morning to attend and
participate in the discussion afterwards. Are you familiar with Carri Taylor or
her DVD? Any suggested questions I might pose?
